What you are buying
When you buy a beat here, you don't buy the beat itself. You buy a license: written permission from Paxor to record a song over the beat and release it. Without a license you may not put a song on Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube, even if you downloaded the free tagged MP3.
The license comes as a PDF agreement with your name on it, sent to your e-mail right after payment together with the files. Keep it: it is your proof that the song is cleared.
Why the same beat has several prices
The beat is the same in every license. What changes is which files you get and how far the song is allowed to go: how many streams, how many music videos, how many radio stations. A cheaper license fits a first release; a bigger one fits a song you plan to push.
One license covers one song. If you record two different songs on the same beat, each needs its own license.
WAV Lease: $38
You get the beat as one finished MP3 and WAV file, without the voice tag. You record your vocals over it and release the song, with room for up to 250,000 audio streams. This is enough for most first releases.
Because the beat is a single file, your engineer cannot change the volume of the drums or the melody separately. If that matters for your mix, look at the next license.
Stems: $68
On top of the MP3 and WAV you get the trackouts, also called stems: every sound of the beat as its own file (kick, 808, hi-hats, melody and so on). An engineer can then mix the beat around your voice, mute a sound that clashes with your vocal, or rearrange the song.
The limits are higher too: up to 500,000 audio streams. Choose it when you work with a mixing engineer or want a more professional-sounding record.
Unlimited: $98
All the files, trackouts included, and no caps on streams, sales, music videos or radio. You never have to count plays or come back for a bigger license if the song takes off.
It is still a non-exclusive license: other artists can license the same beat.
Exclusive: by offer, from $300
Exclusive means the beat becomes yours alone: once you pay, it is taken off the shop and nobody else can license it. There is no fixed price. Open the beat, press "Make an offer" and name your amount; you get an answer by e-mail, and nothing is charged until you accept and pay.
Licenses that other artists bought before your exclusive purchase stay valid until they run out, so buy exclusively early if the beat matters to you.
What happens when a song outgrows its license
If your song gets close to a limit, for example the stream cap, license the same beat again with a bigger license before you pass it. The limits are counted per license, per song.
A non-exclusive license runs for 10 years from the day you buy it.
Rules that apply to every license
Credit the producer as "Produced by Paxor" wherever credits are shown.
Do not register the song with YouTube Content ID or a similar claiming service. With a non-exclusive beat that would send copyright claims to every other artist who licensed it.
You may not resell, lease or give away the beat itself, with or without changes. The license is for your song, not for the instrumental.
The producer keeps the copyright in the beat and a share of the publishing, as set out in the agreement.
Free downloads
Every beat has a free tagged MP3. It is for writing, practice and non-profit use only. Before you release a song commercially, license the beat: you then get the files without the tag.
Buy 1, get 1 free
Put two beats with the same license in your cart and you pay for one. It works for every pair: four beats, two of them free. Beats with different licenses are not counted together.
